Hello, hello!
Welcome to this month's newsletter! I'm a little excited about this month because I've been doing the 12 week year and it's time to think about what I did the previous quarter and set some new goals. It feels like a fresh start with lots of possibilities, I love that.
But now let's talk about what I did last month:
Fearful / Brave Picture Book Contest
For this contest I wasn't really sure what to do at first but as I thought about what things scared me when I was little, making friends/meeting new people was at the top of my list (it still scares me!).
With my idea defined, sketching was really easy. I knew I wanted a little girl hiding behind her daddy's legs.
And then daring to say hello!
And of course later I did some more illustrations with this pair of little girls.

A beach trip
It's still very hot here and a trip to the beach wouldn't hurt. Unfortunately it will have to wait, but at least I have this series of illustrations.
Let's have some mangoes
Next month is mango season and I can't wait. I want mango carato, mango jelly, even some green mangoes with adobo. Also, I'm still sad because I bought a really nice mango (the big kind) and it tasted like water!!!! Now I want a mango... the real kind.
