Hi guys!
Last month was a complete creative madness.
I started January with all the desire to achieve my creative goals so after a couple of days of doing nothing, just eating hallacas and cake, I started working on my main goal:
Illustrate a book every month that I would love to see on my bookshelf!
While I was thinking about it, I remembered that my friend was doing the course "Vintage Illustration for Engaging Children's Books" at Domestika, so I decided to do it myself to see if I could get some inspiration.
I had just watched a few videos and I already had a LOT of ideas!
Here is my initial sketch
and my final sketch!
At this point I was completely thrilled with it and shared almost daily updates on my ko-fi but after a few days, I hated it!
I'm an artist that happens. I liked the sketches but the colors and overall style did not.

However I have this character that I love!

Ok, but now what? well I decided to do a little drawing for #mimis2024promptlist to distract me a little bit and to be able to come back to my leporello with new eyes...
and then I ended up with this, a completely new idea!
Full of inspiration, I finished everything quite quickly and in a few days I had my project finished.

The complete project is in my behance
You can download the coloring pages in my ko-fi COMPLETELY FREE!
As for my leporello... Well, I'll give it another chance this month.
Now cool events I attended this month:…
ILLOGUILD : Creative Goalsetting.
For the first time I was able to join the zoom and it was a great way to start the year. I also like to know everyone's goals so I can copy a little bit the objectives of others.
How to make Children's books 3-day challenge | Storyteller academy
Three amazing days! I learned a lot and felt completely inspired to write my own books!
The 5 Day Pattern Challenge with Bonnie Christine, Vivid Patterns Workshop with Polina Oshu and Surface Pattern design summit.
I really want to dabble in patterns so I joined several workshops! I enjoyed them all and although I was only able to attend 5 talks at the Surface Pattern design summit, they were enough to motivate me. Expect some patterns in the future!
And that was my month!
Hope you have a lovely rest of the month
Hugs,
Katiuska
